Byron Basset

From Loonipedia

Byron Basset is a fictional basset hound from the Warner Bros. animated television series Tiny Toon Adventures.

Byron was voiced by Frank Welker. Although it is never stated, Byron resembles Sam Sheepdog and Barnyard Dog from Looney Tunes. Despite generally shown to be lazy, he expresses many talents when properly motivated by something. Byron is mostly depicted as being a lazy mongrelown for his somewhat malleable nature. In order to turn around, he pulls his head and tail inside the folds of his body, and out the other side.

Byron is a pet of Elmyra Duff. His relationship towards her was not nice, due to the fact that she didn't treat him as he wanted to be, including hard hugs and scorching hot baths. When faced with an opportunity to get away from her however, he remembered that she loved him and took him in, and decided to stay with her.

Byron's biggest role was perhaps in the direct-to-video movie Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation. There, he accidentally ends up joining Buster and Babs Bunny in their subplot of getting caught up in a river after a water gun fight. Near the end of the film, when Byron sees that the bunnies are surrounded by enemies, he flies down (his malleable body flattening out and acting as a hang glider) and carries to shore. Byron doesn't really talk, other than the occasional "woof" and on some occasions "ruff". In one episode, Byron was inside in Montana Max's vault where Max was hiding from Buster Bunny who was collecting money for the newspaper that Max subscribes to. Byron's only line was "Excuse me, is this your vault?". In reality it turned out to be Buster wearing a mask.
