Busy Bakers is a 1940 cartoon.

Plot[edit | edit source]

Swenson, the local town baker, is in trouble of going out of business. He has very little to offer a man who has arrived in his store, who wants nothing more than bread and crumbs. The baker offers him his last doughnut. The beggar says that the baker will be rewarded for his act of kindness.

In a thought-provoking (and hilarious) "twist," the blind man gathers a group of little baker men that he uses in order to help the baker. He returns during the night with the bakers, who make all kinds of goods, with a rube-Goldberg gag like way. The bakery is flooded with all sorts of people looking for food, and in the end the Baker becomes rich.
